This quilt depicts the endangered Whooping Cranes at their wintering habitat along the Texas Gulf Coast.  The left side shows the healthy cranes whose food source is nurtured by the steady inflow of fresh water from Texas rivers.  The right side shows what the area may look like if lack of fresh water and continued drought cause the loss of these majestic birds. This work is on tour with the SAQA exhibit "Wild Fabrications".
